A ROSE Way planning framework E-Book.  Have a look at this SAMPLE E-Book produced by an educator.  Beautiful story of a project shared with families.  Great resource to share with Educators to reflect on ways of documenting children's learning.   This is just a small sample of the quality of pedagogical documentation The ROSE Way planning framework can create for your team.

How to use the framework

This framework has been developed for individual teachers looking for a framework to embed inquiry based intentional teaching into the curriculum.   It moves beyond the surface play of the children interests and digs deep into how the groups trends of play and interactions provide many clues about children’s curiosities.  This planning is how the groups of children engage and learn together in a room community.  Specific individual child planning is not included in this planning work and would need to be documented separately by the teacher to ensure full compliance to the NQS.  The journal will engage teachers in intentional teaching and reflective notes each week and critical thinking and reflection twice over each term.  There is scope for school holiday planning for LDC or FDC educators.

What is the planning construct?

This planning is group planning, looking at the class as a community of learners and will require the teacher to take a balcony view of the children, analyzing:

Where are children gravitating to?

Where is the groups social competencies?

How are relationships building or not within the groups of children?

What are the consistencies/trends that are identified?

How does it develop?

This planning is evolved over a term, week by week, building on the children’s engagement and teacher reflections of the work.  It is not designed for the planning to end each week and start something new.

The ROSE Way uses a strengths based approach to education leveraging from learning environments that inspire young children to explore and learn through their play. It is underpinned by the belief that children are competent, skilled young citizens,
thus it will provide a child-centred approach to learning that values, appreciates and celebrates each child’s uniqueness.  As the children engage in stimulating environments they are encouraged to investigate and explore, to seek and solve, to wonder, and be challenged, all of which are essential components in building a strong identity. Wellbeing and the building of children’s strong identities underpin children’s learning. Wellbeing is built through secure, meaningful relationships and effective support for children’s interactions.
The ROSE Way believes that when children are treated with respect and given opportunities to be involved in decision making about their daily experiences and learning activities, they are then confident in demonstrating their true competencies.
